Welcome The Very Rev. Roger Briggs

Today the parish enjoyed a special visit from The Very Rev. Roger Briggs, former Dean of the Arctic and rector of the Cathedral in Iqaluit. The parish gathered following the service for coffee and cake and were excited to learn about what life is like in the Arctic and what challenges the Inuit are facing. Many of the Inuit have to leave the Arctic for medical help and some leave in search of meaningful employment. We also learned that there is now an Inuit parish in Ottawa where the Inuit can meet and worship together. This is the first Inuit congregation to be formed outside of the Diocese of the Arctic. Roger encouraged us to pray for the Diocese of Arctic and for the Inuit people.
