Introduction to Taize dinner and service

On October 25th, we held an "Introduction to Taize" evening. Those in attendance enjoyed a complimentary meal prior to the service. Rev'd Bahman began the evening by giving us a brief explanation of the beginnings of Taize. Approximately 35 people were in attendance. Among them, Corey and Maria MacKenzie who were celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary. We celebrated right along with them with a special anniversary cake! Congratulations Corey and Maria!

Honouring our Order of Niagara Recipients

On October 22nd, we honoured Janet Lampman, our newest recipient of the Order of Niagara as well as all those in the parish who have received the Order in the past. We had a special cake for Janet and all recipients were asked to wear their medals for a special photo. Jesus has blessed us with a marvelous congregation!

Meet our new sponsored child

This beautiful little girl's name is Martha, she is eight years old and she lives with her mom and dad and three brothers in a one room dwelling in Ethiopia. Her parents are both casual labourers but the family's income is unstable and far from adequate to provide for the basic needs. Our sponsorship will help establish and expand access to necessities such as education, health care, clean water and skills training for youth and adults. Martha's family is Orthodox Christian in faith and speaks Amharic. We look forward to watching Martha grow and flourish over the years of this sponsorship. Our plan is to encourage the parish and especially the children of the Sunday School to write to Ma

Congratulations to Janet Lampman our newest recipient of the Order of Niagara! We are all so proud

Each year, parishes are invited to nominate a person to receive the Order of Niagara. These nominees are people who have given of themselves to the parish, the diocese and the Church. It is a way of honouring their efforts and their ministry in the diocese. It is with this in mind that I wish to nominate Janet Lampman to receive this award. Janet has tirelessly and graciously served her church, Our Saviour the Redeemer, and her Lord over the past years. Janet has been married for 51 years and is the mother of a 46 year old Down Syndrome daughter. In her personal life Janet has shown her heart of a servant by volunteering countless hours in her daughter’s day program at the Dundas Learning Ce

Pet Blessing

On Sunday, October 1st our parish held it's second annual Pet Blessing Service. Our Sunday School children shared with Rev'd Bahman in the reading of Balaam's Donkey. A good reminder for all of us to love and take care of our animals. A total of 13 dogs, 1 hamster, 1 bearded dragon, 4 stuffed friends and 3 pics of lost pets were blessed. All of the animals were well behaved, it was as though they all knew where they were. Following the service parishioners were treated to a bbq hotdog lunch. A good time was had by all present!!
